Health trackers have come a good distance since Fitbit and Xiaomi first popularized this class. Over time, these have developed into two product sorts: smartwatches and sensible rings. In the meantime, a Chinese language agency just lately stole the limelight by unveiling the world’s first clear smart ring, the Omate Crystal, at Beyond Expo 2024. That is made with scratch-resistant sapphire, which has a much decrease yield and is more difficult to craft, hence its restricted production. "We’re unsure how to price it but," Omate founder and CEO Laurent Le Pen said. The Omate Crystal is otherwise largely equivalent to the company’s Ice Ring (branded by France’s Ice Watch), which launched in October 2023 for 199 EUR, and it comes in black, gold and silver. The battery can last for as much as six days on regular utilization, and it may be recharged via a magnetic cradle. Along with scratch resistance, this sapphire ring also has IP68 dust and water resistance.
