Anttoni Aniebonam’s enterprise idea came from the sickness of a buddy. Verneri Jäämuru had struggled with ulcerative colitis when rising up. He was bedridden for a number of months, and had plenty of issues together with his intestine health. Doctors pointed the finger at ultra-processed foods. "The modern healthcare system may be very topical," says Aniebonam. The cause of his friend’s sickness, Aniebonam believed, was the high-fats, excessive-sugar facsimiles of food that lined supermarket shelves. "Over the final one hundred years, our food is way more processed, and now we have excessive quantities of carbohydrate consumption," he says. Aniebonam has cited a tenfold improve in sugar consumption within the final century. So Aniebonam and Jäämuru determined to do one thing about it. In 2020, they set up Veri, a company monitoring people’s metabolic well being using a blood sugar sensor implanted in a wearer’s arm and linked to an iOS app. The corporate was established after the pair examined out any number of gadgets and gizmos to try to hack a user’s health, from DNA kits, probiotics, sensible scales and Apple watches.
