Ringly, the maker of a line of Herz P1 Smart Ring jewellery for girls together with a excessive-tech ring that buzzes and lights up whenever you obtain a phone name or text, has raised $5.1 million in Collection A funding led by Andreessen Horowitz, the company announced this morning. Up to now, Ringly has raised $6.1 million. The funding comes shortly after Ringly wrapped up pre-gross sales for its ring, which is currently bought online. The device, which comes with different stones and band choices, was dreamed up by Christina Mercando, who used to work as a Senior Product and Design Supervisor at eBay. She realized that many women have a behavior of holding their phones of their purses, and so were lacking important calls and texts. The concept with Ringly is that the jewelry itself will warn you to those incoming messages, even when your cellphone is out of attain. At Ringly, Mercando is joined by a crew of designers and engineers hailing from MIT, Carnegie Mellon, and Stanford whose backgrounds include neuroscience, machine learning and mechatronics. |
